Because we are on one of Maine’s
largest lakes, power boating across it’s vast
stretches is a great pleasure. Whether you’re
looking for a high quality fishing boat or a boat to
explore the lake we have the right boat for you.
High Quality Rental
boats
We offer an excellent selection of heavy duty aluminum rental boats,
all 16 feet long. Most of these boats (all but
4 are Lunds) are paired with
either Johnson 15 HP 2-cycle motors or Honda
15 HP 4-stoke motors, and
the remaining boats are paired with Honda 9.9 HP
4-stroke motors. All the Honda
motors are electric start.
Reliable Motors
Whether you have the “need for speed”
or want a low noise, low smoke, smooth pleasure
craft, we have the boat for you. When paired with
our substantial 15 HP engines, our boats are wider,
deeper, more stable, and considerably faster, than
standard rental boats. This makes them very quick
when traveling back and forth to your favorite “hot
spot” which can be important when fishing a very
large lake.
When paired with the new Honda 4-stroke
motors the result is a comfortable, extremely
smooth, very quiet boat, with low smoke emissions -
besides being a breeze to start. These boats are
also perfect for situations when slower trolling
speeds are preferred, as these 4-stroke motors (in
particular the 9.9 HP motor) tend
to “troll down” extremely well.

Larger,
Safer, More Comfortable Boats
Note that all of our 16 foot boats
are substantially larger and more comfortable than
smaller, standard rental boats (which can be 14 feet
or smaller). This makes them safer in rough
waters (which can be an important issue on Maine’s
larger lakes), roomy enough to spread out in, and
truly a pleasure to fish from. Also rest
assured that our new (or newer) boat motors, all
purchased in the past few years, are professionally
maintained and highly reliable. Regarding boat
features, all of our boats are outfitted with full
length back supports on the seats so you can lean
back, relax, and troll in comfort. When
picking up your boat it will be fully equipped with
all the essentials including life jackets, seat
cushions, paddles, a fishing net, an anchor, and
fresh gas. We also ask all of our guests to
attend a courtesy boat safety review prior to taking
out their rental for the first time. In
addition to safety, motor operation, lake features,
water hazards and the locations of recent fishing
“hot spots” will be covered. After the review
feel free to take out any of these boats fishing (or
just exploring) on your own.
New Boats Purchased in 2005, 2006 and
2007
In keeping with our commitment to continually
improve our fleet (now 14 boats strong) in the past
3 years
we have purchased four, 16
foot SSV-16 Lunds, and four, Honda 15 HP
4-stroke motors with electric start. These
boats are also equipped with
factory floorboards and automatic bilge pumps which
make them popular on mornings after a rain
(overall 10 of our 14 boats are now equipped with
floorboards and auto
bilge pumps in preparation for the 2008 season).
Undoubtedly the Honda motors, when paired with
our 16’ Alaskan Lunds, makes for an absolutely
unsurpassed fishing machine for our guests.
