Rideout's
Main Lodge & Dock
Rideout's Maine Fishing Lodge
The Rideout's main Lodge is a hub of activity,
in which guests routinely gather to socialize, dine, and share their love for the outdoors. The is large, rustic and charming
with a great woodsy feel. We have been careful to preserve its traditional, Maine fishing lodge appearance and atmosphere --
its warm, knotty-pine interior reflects the more casual era in which it was built. An imposing, 850-pound moose head is the
centerpiece of our trophy wall, and numerous other fishing trophies and antique 19th-century Currier and Ives lithographs
complete the decor.
Parts of our lodge dining room extend out over the water, allowing our diners to enjoy splendid
panoramic views of the Canadian shoreline four miles across beautiful East Grand Lake. At times, you may see loons or
other waterfowl paddling by, no more than 20 feet from the dining area. Even moose have been spotted swimming across
the cove!
The Lodge also contains our guest lounge, tackle shop, gift shop and recreation room. Amenities such as a
telephone, pop machine, ice machine (with plenty of free ice) and fish freezers are in close proximity.

Lodge dining with a great view
Fine Dining at Rideout's Lodge
For our guests who choose a meal plan during their stay, our
Lodge dining room serves outstanding, home-cooked meals in a relaxed and congenial
setting. Our dinner items reflect their Down East
origins, and are expertly prepared with the highest
quality ingredients. Entrees include Roast Beef,
Roast Pork, Baked Ham, BBQ Chicken, Sunday Turkey
dinner, and premium-quality Ribeye Steaks,
complemented with crisp salads and tasty side
dishes.
All of our dinners are highlighted by our
ever-popular oatmeal bread, pastries, and pies, all
of which are "home made" and baked fresh daily.
Our big country breakfasts are also quite a treat.
The morning menu includes a wide variety of egg
dishes, pancakes, French toast, breakfast meats, toast, a variety of beverages,
and good hot coffee.
All Lodge dining
meals are served in the old-fashioned
“family style” tradition. This is superior to
conventional restaurant dining in that our
entrees are presented on the table in large bowls
and platters and guests are free to serve
themselves. This ensures that your food is always
plentiful and hot, and that you get precisely what
you want - just like a fancy meal at home.
Please note: Rideout's is one of only a
handful of Maine fishing lodges that take the time to prepare a
hearty hot lunch for our American Plan
guests each day. These are especially appreciated
on cooler days in the early and late fishing seasons
(quality packed lunches prepared if requested), and
ensure that you are finished eating and back out on
the water in short order.
