Lakeside
Maine Trailer Sailing Vacations
With our panoramic lake views, our authentic Maine Lodge (est. 1947)
is an unforgettable setting for your next trailer sailing adventure.
We are located in a quiet sheltered cove on the shores of majestic
East Grand Lake. The lake itself lies in a beautifully forested
setting, with crystal clear water, natural sand beaches, and moss
covered granite boulders along the shore. Because we are on one of
Maine’s largest lakes, sailing across it’s vast stretches is a great
pleasure. Whether you’re windsurfing or navigating a sizable
sailboat, you’ll fall in love with the shimmering water and the
splendid scenery. And even though we’re on a large lake, we’re
relatively free of boat traffic so you will not be overwhelmed by
other boats at anytime. In fact, depending on when you visit us you
may not see another boat all day.
East
Grand Lake
During the summer months our water is warm and inviting, perfect for
a family sailing adventure. Feel free to dock your boat in the water
by your cabin and venture out to explore our vast lake stretches and
wooded coves. It will take you several days to do this but you will
be continually rewarded by our cool lake breezes and picture perfect
vistas. Or if you prefer the camaraderie of meeting with others who
share common interests, try joining in on the annual sailing
regattas hosted on East Grand every year. The competition is
friendly, races fun, and oftentimes as many as 30 sailboats
participate. Also, don’t forget that in late September when things
slow down to a more casual pace at the Lodge, sailing can be
combined with our famous New England “leaf peeping”. The cool crisp
air, invigorating smell of the leaves, and colorful lake views are
even more pleasing while skimming across aquamarine lake water…you
couldn’t put together a nicer package.
Picture
Perfect New England
You’ll find that with 16,000 acres of water and 350 miles of
unspoiled shoreline, East Grand lake is one of the most scenic and
pristine large lakes in Maine. In addition, our 22 mile long picture
perfect lake is relatively “undiscovered” and therefore not crowded.
These qualities make this classic New England lake truly a
delightful place to sail. more on lake
